July 19 SloganizeHAHA!
I checked out some guy's blog and got the URL of this really funny site
click HERE to check it out.
you just put in your name or whatever word u like to be sloganized,
the results are hillarious.
My word of choice is Hanyhany
Here's some of mine :
The Hanyhany that refreshes
I can't believe it's not Hanyhany
Do you, uh, Hanyhany?
Strong enough for a man, made for Hanyhany
You're in good hands with Hanyhany
Good honest Hanyhany since 1896
Reach out and touch Hanyhany
Things happen after a Hanyhany
No Hanyhany, no comment
Splash Hanyhany all over
The Hanyhany that eats like a meal
Two hours of Hanyhany in just two calories
There's first love, and there's Hanyhany love
Smart, beautiful, Hanyhany
It's fun, really.
Try it!
July 17 Of Bets, Lollies and RainToday is a typical BLD day.
BLD stands for Bets & Lolly Day, would u mind if I backtrack a bit?
no? grand.
************************************************ Ever since I can remember, me and my dad (if we're both home) always, always start the day by : 1. me making coffee for the entire household
2. my dad insisting his coffee is too sweet / too bland / too brown (?) / stealing his identity etc.
3. me switching on the telly to watch my morning dose of MTV
4. my dad changing the channel to watch re-runs of U.S Golf Senior Open (a bit strange that the Golf
thingamajig is always screening on that particular station at that specific time, hmm...)
5. me loudly protesting with the assistance of banging my java mug around and throwing my arms in the air ala Westlife when singing 'Mandy'
6. my dad pretending to have left his ears in the loo whilst continuing to enjoy the Golf thing.
7. my mum switching off the telly on account of my banshee-like behaviour.
8. with the telly off, me & my dad look at each other warily and start to discuss the woebegone weather
9. me claiming that today it'll be hot and sunny with nil clouds
10. my dad saying, "Aye, not at all. It'll be cloudy in the evening"
11. more arguing ensues, and we now take up a bet on the weather. The loser owes the winner a lolly when the ice-cream man cometh.
******************************************** Very silly, I know. But I read somewhere that it's a sign of father-daughter bonding. Must have been from one of those trashy 'psychology-help' books. Still, I'd throw in my dime's worth.
I have yet to tell my friends the existence of this space.
Don't know why, usually I'd be ringing everyone's doorbell to share the latest bit of news.
But I'd rather keep this one to myself.
*********************************************** I thought about it for a while and I suppose I know why. Well, I've been blogging at blogspot before I came upon MSN spaces. (more at the insistence of a friend, she was positively, rabidly foaming at the mouth. I'd be crazy to say no)
And I told people about my blog at blospot
And people I know read it & leave comments So everytime I add a new entry, I feel compelled to write properly and about interesting things.
I'm quite sure my friends will not want to read about the color of my steak sauce on Wednesday. Compelled to the point that it starts becoming a bit of a burden, it usually takes me a few hours to finish one post.
********************************************* I suppose I'll tell friends of this space soon. But for now, I just want to blog about whatever I want, whenever I feel like it.
On that topic, here's a special shoutout to the 1st person to leave me comments! (very much appreciated) :
"HI THERE, HAROON!"
Oh, by the way, I lost the bet.
Not only was it cloudy, the Rain even made a guest appearance and bringing its friends, Lightning & Thunder.
Plus point : the ice-cream man didn't come on account of Cloud, Rain, Lightning & Thunder having a party 'upstairs' July 12 Very reluctantI'm back in college *very reluctantly, I might add* after a month-long stint of a holiday.
*Sigh*
I came back two days late than the supposed date, successfully missing 2 whole days of classes.
Frankly, I don't even care.
My head has been wrapped around football lately.
It's all I think of, I even keep having Zidane's headbutt featured in my dreams at the wee hours.
It completely escapes me why I'm like this.
I've never been a huge fan of sports before.
I absolutely detest sweat-producing activities.
Up until recently I never knew, let alone cared about football
*offside? is that the new shoppe by the cineplex?*
*90 minutes?! just to chase after a ball and kick it around?! bollocks, i tell you*
***********************************************
A guy friend,N, decided to 'help me out' by making his life-mission to educate me on football and its associates.
He sat me down (hard, I almost bounced back off the chair), wrestled the remote control from my grasp and changed the channel from MTV2 to CUP1 <the official FIFA WC channel in Malaysia>
Amidst my loud protesting, he proceeded to 'educate' me using the replay of Team A vs. Team B match as a visual aid. (much too visual for my liking, somebody's groin was horribly stampeded upon. Ouch!)
A moment of silence for all Y-chromosomed being, N sympathetically grabbed his own nether-region to assure his 'friend' is still well & there.
He then started to inform me in the most intimate detail of the pain of having someone's crotch rammed against the kneecaps.
Just to stop him from sharing too much information with me thus resulting in me heaving up my lunch and dinner from 3 years ago, I conked his head and shouted my agreement to watch football in peace.
***********************************************
Surprisingly, I liked it.
Which is rather profound to me, as I have an attention span of about 10 seconds.
I have always been on the receiving end of many pinches courtesy of those near and dear to me, because when they pour out their heart to me, I always get distracted by something shiny @ moving @ breathing.
From that day on, a new chapter of my life begun (very cheesy, I know. But I just had 3 choc chip biscuits, the sugar's meddling with my head)
My favorite channel goes from MTV / MTV2 / V / HBO to ESPN / CUP1/ ASSP
Go figure.
And I'm happy to say that for once, I'm glad football's on the boob tube despite the many groin-bulldozing, sweat-dripping, unshaved faces I see on the pitch for a month :)
*********************************************
And now it's all over. *Sigh again*
Can't wait for EPL!
(Thank you, N, for my new appreciation for the beautiful game. I will treat you to dinner as promised. Soon)
+++++++++++ +++++++++++ ++++++++++ +++++++++++
Loves, I'm off to watch Fight Club with my copain as she had just managed to smuggle one all the way from Sarawak.
July 09 Go Team Germany!!!Germany won the third-place playoff!!!!!!!!
Against Portugal, 3-1
*******************************
yeah, i know the third-place playoff is a fair bit off a dissapointment
no team would want to play willingly at Stuttgart last night because it's a sure-fire confirmation that they're not the FIFA WC 2006's champion.
you can pretty much see that in both teams.
Before the match, during the national anthems, Germany was grim and Portugal look resigned.
but kudos to Juergen Klinsmann, he was as spirited as ever.
With Michael Ballack on the bench for injury and Luis Figo at the sidelines, it was pretty intense.
*********************************************
the first half was very bland with there were many fouls and mistakes made. Germany got a lot of free kicks that night, but to no avail.
The game took a turn at the 56th minute when Bastian Schweinsteiger launched a distance shot sailing past goalie Ricardo, 1-0.
After that the game was swerved 180-degrees with Germany looking in much better form with one goal in their pocket.
60th minute was a shocker as Portugal's Petit sailed the ball into their own goal following Schweinsteiger's free kick, rewarding the Germans with another goal. *ha! take that Portugal*
and yes, the 'own-goal shot' was admittedly accidental, but nonetheless placed an advantage for team Germany, 2-0
*****************************************
Cristiano Ronaldo pretty much tried his best to get past Germany, but even when he did he just failed miserably on the account that Oliver Kahn was in top form despite playing second fiddle to Jens Lehmann.
I take my hat off to Kahn, he was spectacular last night, his saves were timely and swift. That should shut ppl up on what a lousy coach Klinsmann is.
I think Klinsmann was by far one of the best coach on the field. He really feels for Germany, jumping up and down at every goal so far, unlike the Swede's coach who bears no emotion for his team.
the best thing about Klinsmann is that he was always there for Germany, and he didn't take Germany's defeat to heart. he was proud of them no matter what. now that, is coaching.
*****************************************************
Sadly though, Miroslav Klose was replaced by Oliver Neuville at the 65th minute. I was hoping to see more from Klose last night, what with the Golden Shoe Award at stake.
His understanding with Lukas Podolski that has given them many goals before, just wasn't there last night.
********************************************
It was definitely Schweinsteiger's night.
He scored another distance shot at the 78th minute, 3-0, and was estatically shirting-off after that.
Which raises one question :
"Was Portugal's goalie, Ricardo, sleeping?"
Scweinsteiger is definitely a pro at distance shots, and he proved it once and for all last night.
Portugal's only goal was really courtesy of Luis Figo at at the 88th minute. Nuno Gomes did a header on the ball crossed by the legend himself, Figo. 3-1.
***********************************************
Such a pity Figo's retiring. It truly is a loss for football, having to lose one of the best footballer in the world.
Cristiano Ronaldo was doing what he was well known for : diving, faking, cheating.
He really should go play street soccer instead.
*********************************************
Justice was definitely served last night. Germany deserved to win after their spectacular performance in the WC so far.
They are one of the most powerful and consistent team in the world. Having both the fitness and finer skills that are the makings of a truly winning team.
And Germany has a lot of young talented players on it's side and I can't wait to see them on the field in 2010.
*********************************************
Speaking of that, Lukas Podolski was awarded The Best Young Player Award 2006, beating Cristiano Ronaldo for it.
Very much deserved. Podolski is by far one of the most talented and consistent young players.
what differentiates Podolski from Cristiano Ronaldo is the fact that Podolski has always played a good, clean game and is non-controversial whilst Ronaldo just yearns for attention and will resort to snitching.
I'm really looking forward to Podolski's performance post-WC.
*********************************************
Go Lukas Podolski!
Go Michael Ballack!
Go Miroslav Klose!
Go Bastian Schweinsteiger!
Go Philip Lahm!
Go Tim Borowski!
Go Oliver Kahn!
Go Jens Lehmann!
Go All German Players!
Go Juergen Klinsmann! Go!
*please remain Germany's inspiration*
GO TEAM GERMANY!!!!!!

i'm a huge movie buff, i practically LIVE in the cineplex.
*me, the usher and the popcorn dude are on first-name basis*
music is also a big part of me. not in the sense that i'm a musician-wannabe or an 'artist' just because i can pluck a few strings on the guitar.
i listen to music,that is.
my favorite so far has got to be snow patrol*before gary lightbody, the lead, starts fashioning his hair like ron weasley's*
